2. Whichever of the "desirable" classes you enjoy most will give you the best shot at making it to high end. Find a good group of friends. Don't stay in the same place too long, visit out of the way dungeons like Droga while it still gives experience, Splitpaw, Kaesora. Build your own groups. A lot of times stuff like that was more important to me than the class I was playing, and even when I was enjoying myself I always ended up jumping ship to something else. <-- 56 shaman, 55 shaman, 54 shadow knight, 55 ranger, 50 ranger, 45 enchanter, 21 shaman, 17 shadow knight, 16 ranger, 14 wizard, 11 druid I've given away everything I own and started over fresh three times, usually the same class as before, and sometimes selling my old character to twink my new one | |||

I had a friend who when we would play oblivion, he would constantly reroll another class within 2 hours of getting out of the tutorial dungeon. I always got on his case asking him how he could possibly stand to play the same shit over and over again without experiencing any of the fun that was high end, or even mid game. He eventually burnt himself out on it without experiencing a single mid or high end quality of the game. In my two years on this server I JUST now began creation and gearing of my very first alt now that I have experienced everything (barring VP) that the server has to offer. I would have it no other way.

I think I've come to an interesting conclusion....
I'll play whatever I feel like playing at the time. If today I feel like playing Shaman, I will. If tomorrow I feel like playing Bard, I will. Over time, I'll gain levels across different characters... probably slowly, but I'll be playing what I feel like playing and therefore enjoying my experience. Ultimately, I'll reach a point where I'm REALLY enjoying one character out of the pack and focus on it. What y'all think of that idea?

I find that picking a specific (and relatively short-term) goal for the character I currently want to play helps me play them longer before switching to another character, whether its attaining the next level or spell tier, getting enough plat to buy a specific item, or camping/questing an item. I also find that I have less of a desire to switch characters when I am switching up other things in game (camps, strat, grouping/soloing).

I have one of every class, though only a few are over 20th level. If I get the itch I play one for a while until I get sick of it. I don't really consider it a problem. Maybe I'm not ready for reform, lol.

at least imo, you don't want to have an enchanter AND a bard. Drop one of them.
