they make some great twisties for veg state, but for budding and density, you need high intensity red spectrum light which AFAIK only comes from HPS
They make fixed freq CFLs in 2200k - 6500k and everything in between. HIDs are for either suckers, or large operations that don't have to worry about johnny law and his FLIR. You're average grower can produce more than enough for personal use off of just CFL's at < 1000watts.

now don't get me wrong, both of those things (tunable LED and fluorescent) are totally possible, but you'd need to be some kind of geek electrician / physicist to set them up and maintain them.

i don't think you get the light intensity needed for top quality without hps

Obsessed? lol, you're echoing Harrison now buddy

You are a moran and a dumbfuck - you come here and put yourself out there, and you expect us to leave you alone? No. You're gonna get called a dumbfuck and a moran and we're going to provide any non-off-limits corroborating evidence. Whatever the exact circumstances of your incarceration, here you are once again demonstrating what a moran and a dumbfuck you are.

Cheers

Unless your goal is sea of green in the first place, then you might only get a zip per, but you can have many more kolas in the same area.. then you can get away with twisties to start and move them up to a hps for budding

CFL does have a exponential lumen decay, high dependent on distance from the bulb. But an efficient horrizontal set up (right up on the plant) and a good parabolic hood on top and its never been an issue for me.

I do have a minor in Physics, but I can't actually say it's helped me grow any better. I bet my CompSci/Eng friends and I could come up with some sort of system for what you are looking for, but no way in hell I'm doing that at the University lol. Ill wait for graduation/job and a move to the west coast.

CFL's are best if you know how to fuckin grow weed. Shut up Hasbin.
Whoa, HID are definitely the "best" no contest (except for the sun obv.) All I was saying was it isn't the only viable option. And getting caught from FLIR/smell is for noobs.
