I think this only works for 'raising' faction for quest turn ins, sort of like sneaking.

Well as a troll I just decided to go kill erudite guards. - clearing all the guards in erudin ~10 maybe, every 30 min for 3 hours and I'm apprehensively which was enough to buy my key.
