I like the image that says, "Operation American Spring - How to Throw a Successful Revolution"

Some old people went to Washington DC, waved some flags with crosses on them, literally no one heard about it, and nothing happened. That's a successful revolution?

If you are a fundamentalist and you take religion far enough to be pathalogical about it. You aught to be DSMIV'd just like everyone else who is obsessed/brainwashed/crazy as shit/handicapped.

End of story. The Catholic Church all the way up to the pope has been a pathalogical corruption of religion and the teachings of Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior for many generations.

The Church is not the will of god, nore is the bible, it is the will of humans who are flawed. And this logic is perfectly sound for people of faith. God is love. Acceptance. Tolerance. Harmony. Gaia. Mother Nature. Tara. Ra. One ness. Zen. Dharma.

Also god doesn't have a gender, and is not an anthropomorphic being of absolute power. This is a dumb human invention that is recent on the geological timescale.

If we are the will of god, than changing the church and religion to suit the "will of god" is an appropriate reaction to the evil corruption of god.

That is if you TRULY believe in "god".

There fore blind extremist fundamentalism is not the will of god.

If it was. God would be here on earth getting involved in extreme and fundamental ways. Which he is not. I'm speaking to the judeo christian and islamic faiths (oh and Jesus is one of your prophets). I'm using your terms. Update your books and your faiths please. They are way out of date. God would appreciate it very much most likely. If not then he'll let you know with some firery mountains or some such.

And actually there are many extremely wonderful people who are of the judeo christian faith/orientation who ARE updating their shit. Thank you. There's many theological scholars who aren't fundamentalist asshats. Thank you again [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Good post. I agree with you.

Speaking of updating Christianity, I think the Gnostics are very intereting and have the right idea. They don't believe in taking the bible literally. They don't believe you need all the bullshit human interference like the clergy coming between you and god. They are more open and consider themselves seekers more than believers. And they don't disregard the gospels that were cut out of the bible because it didnt mesh with the church's agenda.

I'm a big fan of the Gnostics, though I myself don't consider myself gnostic. I like to take what I can from Christianity and examine it carefully along with my other spiritual knowledge. I am a woman of my own faith [You must be logged in to view images. Things have gotten a lot better. And the world around me seems to be much more synchronous and good [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Faith does not need separation from logic. This is something people do.

Logic can be applied to faith. Faith can be evaluated by logic. Faith and logic work better in this capacity.

Faith is often considered separate from logic because once it is evaluated by logic, it quickly disperses.

Logic applied to the outcomes of faith on society and individuals can be applied, but I disagree that any faith stands up on its own when logic is applied to it. I include my own beliefs in that assessment.

There's a difference between applying logic to faith and questioning your faith. Everyone should always question their faith. It doesn't mean you are turning away from your faith, it means you are growing with it when so many others are not.
