Is plugging even fixable, or is it part of some EQ code fundamentals?

I think rogean can patch it because he had a thread about this a year ago where he asked opinions or something like that

it's fixable.. little bit of logic can force character to pop on other side of zone if disconnected..

just hope they do it [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I hope they do it too. Removing plugging would be glorious.

Okay, I gotta go look for that thread. I fear I'll read the same old "it's classic" argument though [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]. Can't think of any other reason not to fix it, though wish they did.

if someone plugging from you makes you mad you have a couple options
1) wait at the zoneline for them to come back
2) play better next time to prevent them from making it to the zoneline

shits classic nameen
that being said, if there was no plugging i would get 5x as many kills easily
i would also die twice as much, so like twice a month on a bad month

You simply can't haphazardly remove something like plugging from a game like Everquest. To remove it is to give greater power to classes that can gate and completely shit on melee classes. Sure a lot of people would enjoy it for group vs group or guild vs guild, but the ramifications for newer players, ungrouped melee, and small xp groups would be seriously damaging.

Requesting a mechanic like this without any limitations (like antiplug for lvl 56-60) only shows a players ignorance and/or desire to grief. Enough with the unclassic changes and interference.

You defend plugging cause it's...balancing? That's pretty absurd. Yes, people would die more...so what? YT means a corpse run, that's it. How is that seriously damaging?

Whats not classic is mostly everyone knowing how to plug. There was alot more zone hopping on Rallos than plugging. Everybody plugs, all classes. Removing it will make PVP more dangerous and significant, you will have to think about what you do more thoroughly.

I will concede that it will make it harder on non-twinks, people starting without a big crew to not be able to plug vs a fight they have basically 0% chance of winning.
