If all you're going for is spider silks, you would do way better to bebop around West Karana or the East Commons tagging giant spiders. They are way lower level than crag spiders and drop the same loot, so you can smack em up way faster. If you are going for experience, there are super way OMG better camps for Enchanters. Yeah, I will agree that these other players were hogging spawns, but you got options dude.
Don't crag spiders drop like 4-6 pieces of silk per kill if I recall?

It's pretty absurd.

that's all kind of besides the point, and I know that. That's exactly what I've done when I've gotten there and found people camping them, or really any other camp in the game I wanted to try. WC sucks for silk, but again that's all besides the point, if I really wanted to I'd just level and buy it in tunnel. The thread is more to find out if it's a petitionable offense, and if this kind of douchery is what I can expect from this spot.

Yeah being I was charm killing I was getting a full stack of spider silk about ever 15 minutes. It's 2-7 per kill, more often than not 3+. comparing to WC most don't drop silk, and the max they can drop is 2. I spent about half a level killing them when I was lower and got 1 stack.

No, it is not petitionable. Spiders, and most other outdoor camps are considered roamers. Even named mobs. Unless you are sitting on the spawn point or within aggro range, you are not camping the mob.

There will be b-holes on Project 1999 and most other points of life, but on P99 they are not the norm. You should not interpret anything I say as a-hole-ish. Please don't think I am just being a b-hole. I am a pretty nice n joky person. Most people on this server are also, but some folks like to pull up their rules lawyer belt and wreck yer fun. Please give P99 more chances and find some friends who are not concerned with minimum-maximum character creation. There is a lot of fun to be had here if you remember what makes exploring a fantasy realm good. I myself just log on my druid sometimes to warp around the world and run around with people =)

I don't really know why you think I'm trying to draw some broad conclusion beyond the scope of this topic. It's a mid level camp so it's not like I havn't spent a good bit of time in the game. It's just the first time I've tried this particular camp. I've never before seen people in game with such a complete disregard for anyone else. Two total jerks show up within 15 minutes of each other and so I was wondering if it is typical of this camp. It was basically to find out if I should just pick up my bind point and move cause it's a camp that attracts a-holes.

This camp? Yes. I was grouping at Castle Mistmoore when I was in the 30's.

I'm 22, crag spiders are levels 19-21. The topic isn't really about other camps though, there are tons of leveling guides on the wiki and it's easy to travel as an enchanter. I can't find another camp for a group or solo exp that's not really at issue at all. The problem with the popular zones too is half the time you sit waiting for a group spot to open, and then compared to charm killing it's often times worse exp and WAY worse money.

It's not that I'm anti-social i've been in plenty of groups on various alts, it's just on a class like chanter at these levels I tend to find them fairly lacking.

Dang dude, I don't know what to tell you. Make some friends who will invite you to group. A hefty /friend list is pretty useful. Wizards and Druids are especially useful. /tell people in grouping zones. In your level range that is Mistmoore, Cazic Temple, Droga, Kaesora, Upper Guk, some of Sol A, and Aviaks in South Karana among others I can't think of now. You got options. EverQuest is not about instant gratification. I have had to travel 30 minutes or more to get to a Sebilis group sometimes, depending on where I started to run from and whether or not I could get a port. Invest in some Journeyman's Boots or SoW potions http://wiki.project1999.com/Journeyman%27s_Boots_Quest

I feel like you're not reading anything that's being said and just responding to what only you can see and no one else.
