Shawl 7 is not really for casuals anyway.

Depends on your definition of casual. It doesn't require a raid force to achieve.

Correct, but still saying a casual could get the 7th shawl which does have flowing thought on it... as meager as FT1 is. I was responding to someone else who said casuals couldn't get an item with FT on it.

Hundreds of hours of tradeskills and farming should not meet the definition of casual for anyone lol.

If anything, it will be fun to see the grand Neckbeard migration as vast herds of them cross the tundra in search of rent...their frozen poopsocks dragging behind them like vestigial tails.

Isn't nature beautiful?

Casual I tend to view as "you can obtain it with an hour here and an hour there".

Which Shawl 7 you can.

JC, Brewing, Baking, Fletching and Pottery can all be gotten to the skill level required solely through vendor bought combine. It's tedium and will take a few hours for each. But it isn't extremely costly.

Smithing isn't really required until shawl 8 so you don't need that.

Which leaves Tailoring. Come Wu's Armor, you can get to 158 skill without killing yourself too much but getting to that point will require as much time as the other 5 TSes combined.

Beyond 158 you could do but you're better off just testing your luck on the 6th shawl combine.

If you are casual but started on this server a year or two back, you EASILY could have had all tradeskills except Tailoring set to go. Tailoring you can work up a year into Velious when Wu's is out etc.

It doesn't really require any extreme raid or awesome group. Lots of stuff you could solo or duo/trio if you're a non-solo class.

People have had 3 years of Kunark/Classic to work on trade skills it isn't beyond the realm of casual (3-5 hours a week) to have sufficient tradeskills.

A lot of the pain of tradeskilling can be mitigating by leveling in the right areas and other good planning tricks.
