Jolt, like Concussion, does not need to land to take effect. A resisted jolt and a landed jolt both decrease aggro the same.

Any knight should be able to out aggro Earthcaller Procs in a group. If they can't, they need to cast more.

On a raid, if tank is burning Clicky aggro then ya using Earthcaller is fine until a slow is stuck on the boss (which can take a bit on some bosses, occasionally Rangers will proc and stick before a shaman or enchanter can slow which does help). Once there are better DPS options though obviously use those on raids.

Source? Why make Cinder jolt the exact same spell on a fire resist check then?

Cause Devs aren't smart.

All aggro in EQ is a fixed value.

Every swing of a weapon is a fixed hate value. Whether that hit is a miss or a maximum critical hit.

Just like every spell has a fixed hate value. This is why tanks are able to use Midnight Mallets. Even though 99% of the targets they use them on are magic or slow immune, it still generates a huge amount of aggro.

The same works for spells which decrease aggro. Regardless of hit or resist, it drops your aggro the same. Test it out if you don't believe me. Find a magic or fire immune mob, get just over aggro from someone else, cast and see what happens on resist.

P.S.
Testing on Jolt shows that a resisted Jolt still reduces aggro. I would point you over to the Ranger's Glade for proof, but they've got their panties in a bunch about another druid ability right now. Druids comming to the Glade to ask for Jolt is going to make them go super-critical.
Spell data on the spells is nearly the same. They both reduce aggro regardless.

Pretty sure that's not classic. On live, I never saw people walking around with epics at level 1, despite MQ's, and yet you do here.
If memory serves, Telin wouldn't even talk to you unless you were level 51+, and hand-ins required you to be of similar level.

The OP's question is valid, coming from live. Things work a little differently here it seems.

There's steps you have to do with a high level character. I did all text trigger parts with my 60 druid, and MQed stuff over to ranger at low level. I don't think the Runed bowl quest will work sub-50.

I still feel like the Ranger epic 1.0 should have been a bow

Don't talk and don't accept turnins are two different things.

You don't remember it because it wasn't 4 years Kunark.

I finished many epics pre-50 on Live. Cleric, Rogue, think I did bard mid 40s... Maybe a wizard epic in there somewhere too. Warrior one I think I got done at like 10 or something stupid.

Yeah, I realize the difference between doesn't talk and doesn't accept, but I had thought you needed to be 51+ to turn-in as well. That may have changed at some point, and simply nobody on my server had the courage to try a MQ at level 1 and risk losing something like a SEoC which was pretty rare (as was Jade Reaver for some reason).

Very interesting.

Yea I can't speak to whether or not its classic bc I finished my epics on live in the mid 50s iirc, but here on p99 I did not use any other toons to do talking or hand ins, I did it all at 47.

Yeah, no. Going to have to disagree due to the fact that archery is not a valid dps option until AAs came out with luclin.

For a pure roleplay aspect, I would somewhat agree that maybe a bow could have been a cool option, but not a good option for the gameplay
