Great info in here. I was thinking of rolling an enchanter and had some questions on procs.

Do NPCs use the same proc mechanic of PC? --offhand being half the rate of mainhand.

Will throwing a bunch of dex gear and buffs on a pet up the proc rate noticeably?

thanks

All information points to yes, they work the same for both PC and Pet.

I don't know the specific starting stats for pets (dex, agil, str...) to know specifically how much of an improvement you will see. Players see a large gain until around 200-210 or so... then there is a definite decline in returns going higher to 250.

My current kit is adamantite band, rusty spiked Shoulderpads, tome of the eternal, tola robe, staff of undead legions (for HS). This is great because the proc is undead only and won't hit you on charm break.

In seb or elsewhere I usually use a riptide spear in main hand for the -MR instead of the staff of undead legions and then the rest of the kit. I also have a Locustlure I use sometimes in main hand when I am killing fast and don't feel like slowing every mob.

I am not a fan of using weaps with big procs (steel hilted flint dagger) or dangerous procs (stun whips). The risk/reward is too great on a charm break. Sure a good interrupt on a spell cast is nice, but I can interrupt the caster myself. And big dps is nice, until you get double proc'd with conflag with 1250.

This thread has been a little goldmine of information for my enchanter.

My understanding is that most of these pet items are mostly for when you are duoing/grouping and using your pet as an extra DPS source without him tanking or that you use him as a tank when you duo but your partner heal the pet?

I don't mind giving my pet weapons when I solo but adding all these extra MR debuff items are probably not needed because I swap pets as soon as they reach 10% hp.

I would appreciate some insight on which situations you guys use these items.

Oh and I can't imagine how stressed I would be if my pet was wearing a Tola Robe, I would be afraid of caster mobs that could DD him before I can charmbreak.

From my understanding yes! Although someone like Catherine could probably confirm![You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

When you are max level losing something like a Tola robe doesn't mean much, it is what 2k?

Any situation where you want to keep the pet long term. Grouped dps, or your using mez/memblur to reset the mob to self regen to full health.

Yes, any charmed pet that can equip gear. Never played a druid, so not sure the equipment thing works for them. I don't know that animals can or can not equip gear. Pretty sure they don't use the weapons.

Is there any damage benefit to giving your pet 2 low-level 1H weapons so that he dual wields as opposed to the traditional pet damage without weapons?

In other words, will 2 level 1 daggers given to my pet to make him dual wield allow him to deal more damage than if I did nothing at all?
