It just boggles the mind that all these people were sitting around staring at bards pull entire zones and never thought to start looking for other people staring at bards pulling entire zones to start a group in a dungeon that no one ever goes to. There are a lot of them. A lot.

That requires people to think/explore. The server isn't going anywhere. You aren't racing anyone to anything. Why not explore the game instead of poopsocking through all the EXP to get to end game ASAP? From what I gather, the end game is packed anyway.

Yeah, after this weekend I've become convinced bards are basically game ruiners. I don't feel like I should have to pay a bard to powerlevel me, but it was the same in every outdoor zone I went to, some bard gathering up dozens of mobs, and powerleveling guildies. It's so frustrating.

I'm happy double xp is over TBH.
Nah, you just don't have the attitude or willingness to solve your own problem. Peel a mob or two off a bard who is kitting. You see the bard run by, then a moment or two later, the train of mobs runs by. I will snare a few to quad. Done deal. Its not that the bard is ruining your fun times, its that you are allowing it to occur. /petition (if you really feel like being a dick), peel a few mobs that you need, and/or goto a zone that is not on the normal (how to level) guide on the Wiki. go outside the box. Enjoy EQ. Dont follow the wiki mindlessly without any ability to make adjustments.

Think outside the box. A group I was in had a chanter AE memblur(?) AE stun(?) mobs out of a bards pack and kite them around while we pulled singles off of it. Great xp!

I still love you Mixxtape <3

I wasn't following the wiki mindlessly.

This weekend I was in LOIO on my Necro and attempting to charm undead, around level 25-30, particularly Charbones and the like.

Every time I used sense undead, I would run up to a giant bard train kiting dozens of them. I would wind up peeling one, charming it, then have very little for him to engage.

I'm actually surprised how willing everybody is to compromise 50% of the zone's mobs and work around these bards.

Eventually I just wound up charming Varsoon the Undying and having him kill guards, and other mobs in Qeynos Hills. It was fun until he magically despawned.

you could have been in upper guk, sola, or another zone enjoying a great bonus ZEM (rather than a negative one) and not having to deal with bards

instead you chose to go to one of 3 zones where bards kite regularly and then post about it on the forums

3 zones? You're kidding right? All four Karanas, LOIO, FV, BW, DL, OT, WW, Lesser Faydark, OOT, Timorous Deep, hell even FOB, Butcherblock and Oasis, basically any outdoor zone that's good for fear kiting is where bards kite.

fact still remains: you sat and complained rather than leaving

also of the zones you listed, only EK/SK, Overthere, FV, and LOIO are actually used regularly by bards with OT, FV and LOIO being the 3 that I mentioned.
