I don't see how wiping the server would change anything. unless there are some rule changes one guild would rise to the top again and everything would be right were it is now.

same with the team server. one team would be the overwhelming favorite (evil) and zerg.

The only difference might be the top guild changes. Nothing stopping that from happening now, but the players. Not sure everyone needs to lose everything so a few players have an easier chance to become new top dog.

That's the whole point of a cyclical server. Firegiants like Farzo will stay huddled in fear of PvP with his 100 man zerg on the permanent server while the new server sees 700 players at peak. Those who care about their characters after three months each of classic, kunark and velious can follow their characters when they get copied onto the permanent server. Those of us who like PvP and not sitting in mom's basement hoping for that sixth epic will roll new toons after the wipe.

but why would this new wipe server be any different? what is preventing a group a of people from doing the same thing over and over?

A brand new classic server would draw more peeps than any expansion. Once servers are this stagnant and the lifers have 9 Alts with aons shit gets pretty crapy
