Put it this way, even if you got a free shot it would barely register, then it would punch your head clean off. This is a dramatization of what would happen: [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I think an A level athlete trained properly would have a fair chance, gorillas do know how to punch but it doesn't get used as a primary attack in a face-off style fight. They mostly "warning" punch beta apes in the chest, shoulder, and back when they aren't looking to assert dominance. In a real square-off type scenario they try to wrestle and slam and claw. Based on this, due to the fact gorillas don't have natural "punch his head off" instincts, I give our best human a very strong chance of being able to knock a gorilla out. But maybe they don't need to punch a humans head, they could punch anywhere and perhaps cause a fight-ending injury The thing I would be most worried about is the bone density. The human would have to land on the cheek/face area to effectively land a punch without breaking his hand. Hitting the forehead/skull would be suicide as even with wraps and boxing gloves the hand would break instantly. Also I have no idea if the central nervous system of a gorilla, considering its skull structure and density, is even susceptible to a human punch even from one of our best. Just look at the difference between a Samoan human, and an average human in their ability to take punches. Its scary.

See pal that's why I said they have to wear gloves and wraps.
Chimpanzees prefer rending attacks (tearing muscles and arms apart, ripping flesh with each grab) and their grip strength is an unfair advantage. Videos of chimp fights are very gory.

Wait I didnt re-listen to that 911 call becuse I regretted listening to it in the first place a few years ago, but iirc it was "he bit her face off" So gonna have to use whatever it is that keeps Iron Mike Tyson from biting people in the ring on these guys too :P

I assume you all are talking about a situation where the animal is actually gonna fight to the death, otherwise a human will win by asserting dominance 99% of the time and an animal will back off.
Now say you injected the gorilla with some pcp before the fight and it flew into a bloodthirsty gorilla rage? ya you're gonna get your legs torn off.

If you guys actually think a human being can kill/knockout a gorilla or chimp with their bare hands you are fucking retarded. 100 lb chimps have literally ripped peoples limbs off. 100% of the time the human would die. It would be like an adult male fighting a 1st grader in terms of strength difference.
As for asserting dominance, I really hope you're never at a place in your life where you think that is going to save you. Humans survive encounters in the wild with gorillas and chimps by doing the exact opposite and acting submissive. That is because those people are not retarded and understand the second one of those animals flips the kill switch your life is over.

Ok so wrap its hands and tie boxing gloves on it so it can't grab, and slap a muzzle on it so it cant bite.
I'd like to see it try to out-box a top human considering it doesn't come natural to them.
