I love Swish, but the first thing you need to do is NEVER ROLL RED.

Do you think a game where you can be killed and lose your money, but also kill others and take their money, is worse then a game where people wait at the same spot for countless hour, and repeat this week after week?

Pvp makes EQ harder, variance makes the game unhealthy.

Good to see people without a classic MMO background able to log in and enjoy the EQ experience even in it's dated form. It gives me some hope that the classic MMO experience can survive in a world filled with instant gratification, cash shops and other modern MMO "features". It gives me a bit of hope that games like Pantheon and Saga of Lucimia might actually have a market to be successful when they launch.

If you guys are looking for a guild to join that is focused on the leveling/grouping aspect of the game feel free to look me up in game for an invite or more info. We did a guild dungeon crawl last night from Mines of Nurga through to Temple of Droga jail last night. Was fraught with danger and near death experiences. Fun stuff! welcome to the wonderful world of EQ. this game is very challenging, but also very rewarding. best of luck on your journey!
Thank you! It's been an awesome journey so far! The world is just so bizarre and unknown to me. It's definitely challenging every time I'm playing and it's fun as hell!

the 'no chatting' thing always baffled me in newer MMOs. Why don't people feel compelled to talk?
It's because groups are too rushed and worried about completing content that they have done over and over 10000000000 times. And that's what sucks about modern MMOs today, the community is shit and the content is redundant. Grouping in EQ is so much different though, Players are definitely compelled to talk to each other because coordination is key and if there is zero coordination then the group is just garbage. Nothing will get done and no one will have a good experience. It's just nice seeing people converse with each other again. Makes the game feel more alive.

Thanks for the offer man we will definitely take you up on that, that is one thing we've been aching for is a Guild. It's so cool seeing the community be so awesome for a game again. You should take a look at the WoW forums that place is a disaster. We actually tried out EQ for the sole reason to get a better understanding of Pantheon. We got hyped for Pantheon before we played EQ and then one day I was like "Hey, wanna try out EQ? I miss playing a MMORPG" before you know it me and him are level 17 and enjoying every minute.

We don't get a lot of time to play but the fact that we are only level 17 makes me happy that the leveling takes a while. Being so used to the way modern MMOs handle leveling it's nice not feeling like I'm being rushed at all for anything. It's just fun , plain and simple. Everyone here on this website and the server itself are awesome people. I hope to see some of you guys in the world of Norrath!

My character name is Ithirradwe so if you see me feel free to chat [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Yeah, I have plenty of WoW experience and one of the things that finally ran me off from that game was the cross-server dungeon finder they added. Such a vile community of gaming miscreants with no filters or consequences to their anti-social behavior since they are from other servers and will likely never see you again. Just an awful experience and pretty much goes against everything I love about MMOs.

Pantheon was the main thing that brought me (and many in our guild) back to EQ. Most of us are waiting for Pantheon and will be in alpha when it's available and will be moving to Pantheon as a guild at release so we can hit the ground running with a solid group of people who like playing together and have good group chemistry. You guys sound like a perfect fit for the guild if you are interested.

I don't even know where to begin, honestly. This game is just flat out genius. I love it.

I'm also extremely NEW to the EQ world so bear with me. From what I have experienced so far is just brilliant. I come from the modern day MMO playstyle ( WoW, SWTOR, ESO, etc.) and it's really cool playing this old school MMO because not everything is so flashy and all over the place, everyone is just chillin' casting spells, smacking orcs, playing songs, collecting loot and gaining wonderful amounts of XP points. EQ is so relaxing and refreshing to my mind every time I login. Logging in is probably one of the most thrilling actions you take once you and your character are in the game. From there you have this giant world to explore but not by yourself, groups are most important. Making friends in EQ is essential, everyone knows that. Groups are powerful and progressive and super beneficial when it comes to PvE. It also allows the players to connect with each other which is awesome, you don't see that in modern day mmos anymore. Everything is rushed and all about end game "content" and nobody talks in chat! That shit is wack and redundant, not to mention boring as fuck. When i play EQ there is always something new to do, always something new to see. There is always a moment where you freak out because of a Train that's approaching the group. The game is challenging and fun, it's not the same ole shit over and over again. So, Coming from WoW to EQ has been a hell of an experience, but a great one. It feels good to be a newbie again, to figure out how the game works. I'm also playing this with my friend who is a newbie too and he's loving EQ just as much as I am. Can't wait to level my toon the next time I play! My toon is in Oasis of Marr right now and the place is dangerously, nuts with the Sand Giants walking around and the orcs that have crazy, long pathing lol. Love this game.
