Yeah but to his defense, in the past on many older games "barcode" names were often used well before this time and before red players did it.

Usually people did it to avoid tells, or best was when they created a barcode name with 3-5 of their pals so when you targeted them in PVP it was hard to differentiate if you had the cleric targeted, the tank, or the rogue etc.

Basically barcode names only create confusion and problems, and chances are a year from now the novelty would have worn off, and the guy would have been sending in a petition to get it changed due to no one being able to send him tells.

Imagine seeing that troll name WTB/WTS an item, or needing a rez then trying to contact him via a tell?

As someone who regularly tries to contact people when I see an active timer on their corpse... I give it a few tries (based on my BAC at the time) and then give up.
