My ideal candidate is a strong middle eastern alpha male with a beard who rejects Islam and all religion and has made a small fortune selling rugs, but he does not give his son enough affection and this leads his son to let their child servant get raped as he tried to rescue a blue kite for the master child to win his daddy's affection with.
Hopefully you read the book, and did not only watch the movie. The movie was ok, but as in most cases the book was significantly better.

I laughed at this post btw and felt guilty afterwards. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I read a book ages ago, and think you'd enjoy it called Redbeard by Michael Resnick. It's a quick read, not a long book but I reread it later and still found it highly entertaining. If you ever get a chance, try to check it out.

It's a science fiction book, but has an element of fantasy to it, was one of Resnicks earlier works if I remember correctly.

Redbeard is this barbaric caricature of a character but one of the best anti-heroes I ever read a book about.

The way you present Filbus in your stories is very similar I think that's why I thought of this just now after reading your Breakfast I thread.

The Kiterunner was a superb book, I think I actually looked up his second book either I didn't find the books premise interesting or something because I never followed up after that. In fact, since that early time I never checked out the authors later books I bet he has many written since then.

I'd vote for Brad McQuaid at this point.
I don't know if we ever had a president that was actually 100% on vacation during his term.
