edit: if you ever want to solo, ignore this post

You could consider a rogue.

Highly desired raid class, full epic MQ is like 30k. Buy a Sebilite Croaking Dirk for your offhand and your weapons are "done" until 60.

Take the other 12-13k and get some haste (Silver Chitin Hand Wraps / Flowing Black Silk Sash), +hp rings, some basic STR or HP gear using this:

https://wiki.project1999.com/Category:Rogue_Equipment

Go through each slot, sort it by STR, find cheap items (thinking stuff like 2x orc fang or diamondine earring, 2x tar goo strands, etc).

Spend 1-55 along the XP superhighway. Be that rogue that scoops up a good portion of trash cash. At 55 you'll get double backstab and will be desired in good cash camps.

Upgrade your haste to something nutty once you farm up.

You're ready for the raid game.

+1 at Kjs86z finally someone with sum judgement , rogue is just the best for bucks, every grp you join has insane dps + it the must have class in sebilis (fat leets)

OP didnt said if prefer melee or caster , he just shoot bunch of classes, but druid/rogue is the one i would pick

I'd pick SK.. Ranger i think is gonna take a lot of money to compete with top DPS. SK has a lot of fun tools still.

-Shadowstep to get through some locked doors.
-FD is amazing if you are a busy man at home.
-Both forms of invis is awesome.
-Undead spells come in handy way more than animal or banish summoned spells in the ranger/druid spellbooks.
-You get a pet, even though he sucks.
-Super easy to get agro with SK without the stress of weapons warriors have to deal with.
-Greenmist is a great plan b if you can't dedicate to the SK epic
-Self only DMF is exciting
-Shroud of undeath is something to look forward to!
-Love those dot snares too!
-Not a lot of SK's make it to end game, which gives you a great shot at getting some good gear!!
-Great choices of races to choose from as well!

Rogue may be a great choice on paper, but all you're doing is one of the following tasks:

1. Autoattack & Backstabbing
2. Sneak/Hiding & Corpse Recovery
3. Hiding to Evade your built-up aggro, then back to stabbing
4. Opening doors
5. Wowing people that you're yet another twink Rogue

You seem to want a variety of things you can do, you'll be either staring at mob rear-ends each session or recovering corpses during the insanity that is P99 Raid-game.
SK or Ranger would be way more engaging than a Rogue!

Ranger also seems like a great choice on paper, but all you're doing is one of the following tasks:

Yeah, hybrids sound like a lot more fun. I know going in my dps would be far lower, but I think I'd have a lot more fun with a ranger/sk. I'm just really torn between the two at this point. SK seems like easier groups, but also a bit more obligation (harder to replace the tank if something comes up). And ranger epic seems doable as a filthy casual without dedicating years to the pursuit, which is a nice plus.

I really appreciate all the feedback from everyone. Momotion had a good idea about a druid, so thinking of shaving off 5-10kish and rolling a porter as well. I know I could spend a less, but then I don't look as cool with my FashionQuest, which is half the fun.

You can solo all the way 50-60 quite effectively killing mostly guards if you really want to. i'd still want an SK in rogue groups to hold aggro over a war. And is potential puller, too, in some group comps.

If you're toying between Ranger and SK, just go SK.

Get some bare bones gear and save up the rest of the way for that Fungi.
