idk i think the placement of the npc there, it could be a direct homage, I wouldn't be suprised if any or all new world devs, played eq at least once, and prob love it haha

True that, it's literally the same old shit. I clicked on that video and watched it for five seconds and I identified a hundred things I've already seen and then the "gate" came into view and I was like look it's the MENACING GLOWING GATE that I've seen over and over. It's the standard MGG from a dozen other games where I had to either step through or fight stuff coming out of.

My gate would look like a baby's crib. And there would be a smiling golden angel lying there with it's arms outstretched for a hug. And then BAM! straight to hell or something.
