Ubernerds shame someone for legit complaints. But it all comes down to this being a very flawed game. This is nothing like 2000. In 2000, everyone was too busy exploring the new zones and trying to figure out the new camps and quests instead of racing to Sebilis and locking down Pre-Nerf content.

You basically have 3 options here: Spend all your time trying to elbow your way to the front of the loot line (AKA "Work for it" to the mouthbreathers), go off the beaten path and look for other stuff to do (There is actually quite a lot to do that isn't in dungeon cash camps), or do something else entirely for a few months until these nerds are wasting all their time fighting over VP.

This is what I do....explored Cabilis, LoiO, FoB and Warsliks. I dont have time to do quests, many more zones to come. Today I'll check out Kurn's [You must be logged in to view images. if your not on the good discords/a streamer your kind of just a person here

you can still have a lot of fun with the game tho by taking it slow and making fun stories out of it, creating a community of ragtag rebel newbies that are anti-whatever raid guild things or whatever.

rawhide, and banded goes forever a long way on iskars lol and necros don't even need armor [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

its just that most regular leveling groups are well established also, so the game requires a great deal of social time on top of a slow grind if approached normally without powerlevels etc, which people who are kind of loners/families either work around or just take 2cnd seat. When there's an available spot.

It's not a bad thing, EQ is more social-dynamic that way in that it requires a kind of group organization and leadership, or joining, and working towards joining a 'good team' to follow to 'do stuff' outside of level in the newbie areas and do some tradeskills. There's probably a few people who just leveled a mage solo to 50 or 60 or whatever tho. And enchanter is a good option for logging in and killing a mob every 30 minutes while naked too.

I remember back in 2000, about a month before Kunark dropped, I was sitting back in my chair looking at my monitor which showed 11,000 bone chips and nearly 400 gnoll scrolls banked.

I was ready.

I feel screwed [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

So they basically disabled a huge portion of the game that was fine and natural in 2000 just for what???

To protect some Esports "Server First" title? or something for hitting 60? Or whatever? LOL

I bet the bonechip markets in the newbie yards naturally took a huuuge dive lol. Soo classic.

This is nothing new, several of the Kunark dungeons are tough.

As a casual player I’ll get seb key eventuelly just to do a group or two for fun. Mostly I’ll enjoy the solo leveling to 60, new spells and to do some raid content tourism.

Discussion impossible?

Come up with better arguments. Do you want 21 years of game knowledge to not exist?

You appear to have problems with what other players are choosing to do with said knowledge.

This is a RnF thread in disguise.

When it comes to soulbound keys, keeping them as they were only benefits neckbeards.

Why wasn't sebilis locked for the first week? Its not as if people beelined there in classic, killing trakanon day 1?

Why wasn't trakanon limited to a 70 person engage? Its not like in classic 100+ people showed up, this shouldn't be possible the first few months.

Anyway.

You can also do whatever keyed dungeon you want, just don't die there ever.

Basically, keep a vial of swirling mist or WC cap and leave immediately if you're in danger of dying. High risk, high reward, don't screw up. Play like its permadeath.

Nah it's simply you don't want to put in the time anymore. That's fine. Never said EQ was hard.

What's silly is the folks that like to bring others down with them.

There is a whole other forum for that.
