Best played collaboratively. I concede there is pixel scarcity, but this was intended to be a time sink / anti twinking measure more than a source of competition.

EQ is best played at 800x600 CRT w/ 20 choppy FPS over a dial-up line that could drop you at any time in a dungeon.

I remember having to pay a quarter in order to reconnect and like $4 per week was my hard limit. I payed out of my meager McDonald's paycheck from working part time for EQ in HS.

Like woa... what a blessing if you think about it I was like an high born erudite of that time period, getting to have a job, the internet, eq, and learn about the fall if Constantinople in school all at once.

Everyone who plays games online/posts online is lonely in some regard. I just post a lot more than I spend at emp begging fungi duos. Hard to say who's lonelier. The guy tabbing between multiple characters over on another emu, or between servers for raid batphones, or the guy up at 3am posting about loneliness online.
