Are YOU playing Embers Adrift?

Played after buying it for a month. Cool game but nothing there worth $15 sub. Not yet.

Embers Adrift has a free weekend 2-4 June.

It's a small indie game, but in some ways has a similar feel to EQ - similar interface, no minimap, no auction house, slow pace - but with modern design values.

Might not be worth a $15 sub yet (maybe $10.99 now?) but maybe worth a look for free weekend.

I played for a month and found it quite fun - actually its similarities to EQ brought me back to Project99.

Recommended if you're looking for something different in an EQ vein.

Huh. This looks pretty interesting. The combat looks pretty janky, and no spells? But otherwise it does seem like a game all of us p99ers would enjoy.

So I tried it for about 2hrs and while I will admit it does have some charm, there is no way im paying a $30 box price + $10 a month. I'd be happy if they had a $30 box price and it was free per month, or free to DL and $10 a month to keep playing.

The combat is the worst part as it feels really stange waiting for a cast bar while meleeing. The graphics and UI and general feel of the mobs reminded me of EQ2 a bit...

The world was interesting but like I said not worth a sub and box price.

I did see some streamed and I also thought it had that EQ2 vibe to it graphically.

Will it fall into that free to play trap where it gets abandoned?
