course if you supplant the c with a g you would be entirely correct stressing the "e" because then it's a portugese/spanish derivative of a latin word

but then it would probably only apply to erudites...

on a side note some old folks from the sixties had an extra classification added to the 2010 census because they identified with it sooooo...it's not really a slur
