I no longer suspect malice, but copious amount of drugs might be the culprit.

I'm with OP on this one. I would have kept my plat too. If I was having the non-responsiveness that OP is claiming after getting an affirmative for me to get res'd for 100p, I would have probably texted a 2nd cleric.
