what will happen in practice is instead of two big boy guilds ruining everything for everyone, the play makers of both will be a singular guild for about a month before they're at each others throats do to the personalities and it will implode internally in about a month and they'll fuck off instead of the boom bust merge meta that blue had for a decade that everyone hated in retrospect

i was literally rounding up if we wanna be honest about it

i'm not counting the grunt work like tracking without falling asleep or the odd duck who can kite a vulak guard without fucking up because running in circles is hard apparently, or the buffer who you're happy with because they actually respond in a timely matter unlike every other one in the fucking guild

none of that work matters without the pull team and we saw how toxic that arms race got, i didn't play on green but afaik none of the things that made blue turn to shit were addressed there

Sure but let's also not ignore other moving parts required for other raid encounters, where specific class roles are understood and routinely performed as expected without instruction. Easily more than 10 non-warm bodies involve themselves with PoF, for example, and many don't fall into the category of play maker or raid leadership. They simply learn the zone and their class role in it, earning/spending DKP after rolling out of bed.

Similarly, none of the pull team's work matters without a force to kill the target. The pull team does typically involve the same familiar names, but it still adds/subtracts classes as needed from zone to zone. Bards in VP, druids/rangers in PoH, etc.
