Iksar and Troll regen is the same.

Iksars make awesome warriors once Velious comes out, and they get to wear plate.

Regen is rlly not a huge deal for a monk as anything high-level you will NOT be tanking or anything. You'll also have a healer healing you. The natural AC buff is kinda nice to have though.

be ready for the huge amount of ik necro that will be showing up

but there is no real need to start waiting for this stuff....sky isnt even out yet :/

Iksar FD animation is UBER (before the Luclin models, that is). Way better than human animation of just falling over like a pussy. Iksar is dramatic over-acting death scene style.

That said, necros get FD too. Can't wait to make my Ikky necro!

it's the same regen. great for necro's, shamans have the problem of not being able to wear plate, which is a pain for not being able to use the JBB [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] , which we all know is amazing in classic.

Regen for monks isn't that big a deal. Sure, if you start a monk during kunark it absolutely should be an iksar. But to reroll your lvl 50 human monk to an iksar when kunark releases is a little absurd. Necromancers on the other hand...

I went with a human monk even when I had the option of Iksar. I had a high elf cleric, is was way easier to PL him that way. I can tell you the difference, even in AC is negligible. The regen, while dope is not a game breaker once you get a fungi. Even into Luclin there was two Iksar in the top 3 guilds on emarr, one warrior and one shaman. There were however 8-10 human monks: Toadhammer, Saaril, Torkya, Popplo, Laoke, Santhini, Koryo, Bejita, Syriak, Agannerral, and one more that escapes me.
