Since this is working fine for some but not for others, I think I have an idea what's happening. What it sounded like to me was what happens when a grid gets assigned multiple times. I noticed one of Harkor's posts about faction - he's spamming hand-ins for faction. The hand-in is what assigns the grid. So harkor is the one breaking the npc.

Yeah this was borked when I just tried to do it as well. Handed him the gem and sat and waited for him to move for about five minutes, then tried telling him he could buy booze, and he gave his response but still sat completely still. Whoever has been screwing this up I hope you're happy.

Just petition for someone to /kill him if you're about to hand in a gem, until this gets updated. He has a very short respawn.

So does that mean sit in front of the NPC and make a forums petition, and wait and pray for someone to do something? I'm guessing with the dearth of nonsense Epics is going to create, I could be waiting for a while.
