Longest running buggy piece of custom shit openly hacked and exploited. You should be proud of that title. /sarcasm off

The server was fucking garbage and your hilariously pathetic high school clique of inbred, barely literate, children are too stupid to stop touting it as such.

This server had a decent chance until you shit in your own bed and now you're laying in it. Yellow text isn't going to save it. OOC isn't going to save it. The precedence set now is, "Cheat, you won't even get banned anyways if you get enough monkeys to flood the forums and cry when you get caught." Legitimate players who want competition free from cheating shitbags aren't going to play here.

This is just silly. Nihilum is humiliated constantly on the forums, particularly in the Nihilum killshot thread. There's not a single person outside Nihilum who actually thinks they are decent at pvp, and probably few people within Nihilum who thinks they're a good pvp guild. People join Nihilum for the pixels, that's all.

Like I said in this thread and in various other threads, YT just encourages a certain style of PvP by making it implicit that anyone with more YT in their favor is "better". Favoring a certain style of pvp/rules of engagement is not a good idea. Whenever YT is implemented on a server it becomes an informal leaderboard, so you see people bind camping, killing AFKers, and killing people on CR's more often. Basically, you get pvp for the sake of ego-stroking which is not what classic pvp was (necessarily) about. Killshots posted on the forums provide context to show that a person is being bind camped, killed while naked, etc., so those are better for people to show off their kills. Global OOC lets people find groups easier and broadcast where pvp is occurring if they really want. YT isn't needed and it just creates more problems than it solves.

Inb4 "you're just against YT because you're afraid of pvp".
P much sums up why I'm indifferent to YT.

Global OOC definitely needs to happen, though.

Yellow text is stupid, Rogean already said it wasn't going in. Every time this is mentioned I make the exact same argument and no one responds except to call me a "fag" or a "pussy". News flash: being opposed to YT doesn't mean I'm afraid of pvp. It just means that I think this server shouldn't be turned into an FPS where the singular goal of everyone playing is to kill everyone you can indiscriminately, regardless of whether there's a good reason. Classic pvp wasn't like that. Some players were anti PK's, some players were PK's, some were elf-slayers, etc. Yellow text encourages people to kill just for the sake of killing.
if you haven't noticed bud, this server isn't 100% classic.

uhm I dont expect Rogean to work his ass for free, it's a free EQ pvp server with a few bugs.

Still playable and fun imo.

I know the goals of this project are vaguely defined, but I think it's assumed that the devs (and the players) want to more or less recreate the charm of classic eq pvp. One thing that many people enjoyed about classic pvp was the diverse community, among whom were players with varying self-imposed rules of engagement (like the examples I gave earlier - PK's, anti-PK's, elf supremacists, etc). So regardless of whether the server is 100% classic, it's still relevant for me to bring up how the community was on classic eq pvp servers because that's what many people are looking for when they roll on this server.
