Will Kunark items still be viable in Velious?

I would guess minimum of 1 year till Velious. They are low on staff and i would think low on caring after all the bullshit this server has thrown at them.

Regarding item worth anything that continues to drop is a poor investment. It will lose value in the long term. Manastones etc are a smart investment hence why i have a bunch.

My advice is buy what you want..enjoy your money and liquidate a few months before velious. You will have plenty of warning before it comes out.

This is more a replacement for HBC than Hierophant's.

Velious largely does not replace mid or mid-high range gear (i'm talking stuff like Class-set armor like Blood ember/Darkforge through planar, etc).

Kunark gear will still be fairly valuable. There are a few mid-high range items that arrive which are pretty incredible, but for the most part the lion's share of the upgrades are in the 60ish raid scene. One of the huge pluses of Velious as an expansion is that it was able to support and augment the previous expansions rather than merely replace them, as Luclin largely did.

Cloak of the Maelstrom is a closer common replacement for Hiero than Direwolf cloak.

Hiero is one of the few Kunark/Old World Equip that will retain it's full value in Velious.

Depends how bad you want it. Hiero cloak took a shit from 65k to I say 45k in the past few weeks. If you have the money, I still think it's a decent buy and won't be outdated when velious comes out. It's +4 to every stat (minus resists) and +75 hp/mana....what more do you want? you want to pay 200k for some velious cloak that gives you 100HP (if there even is one)? the trade-off just isn't worth it. if you want to be patient, i think you can get one for <40k in a month or so.
