Please take a look at this, something is definitely off. They are going up, just...slowly.

Have to agree on this. Something definetly seems out of whack.

Skill ups are very slow on EQMac, sounds like this was fixed on P99.

Naa, on live I could easily keep multiple weapons at cap, every level. That was from March '99 onward.

So far here I'm about 18 points below cap on my 1hb (and that's with constant melee), and I haven't even begun to work on my peircing. Either my luck (and many others) is incredibly terrible, or there's a minor issue in determining the chance for a skill-up here. And this is my 1hb from level 1-18, it should be moving along nicely this low yet it's not.

I have noticed the same thing. Skill ups are very slow now on some types of skills - weapon skills for sure. To the point that they appear to be stuck for the cap of the current level and will not advance until you reach the next level.

Indeed something has changed and it isn't right. There was a coding change made to skillups or caps in a recent patch (don't remember who/what/when). It is very likely that the change from that recent patch has had this unforseen negative impact.

I've noticed exceedingly slow weapon skillups on multiple characters. A Rogue, Bard and Shaman, to be specific. Like others have said, you can keep one maxxed but anything beyond that is going to lag.

Defense skillups seem kind of slow too....let a decayed skelly beat on a level 3 toon for about an hour or more the other day before I hit 15 defense. It should be slowish but that's a lot more extreme than anything I ever remember on live, at that level at least. If you let it lag and are trying to catchup at higher levels, it was always rather slow. Painfully slow. But when you are in the level window of the skill level it should be fairly steady capping out. Especially at low levels.

Lower skill levels will increase somewhat faster, pending update.

Thanks!

Does this mean its changed right now or not until the next patch? Because it's still really bad in-game right now. Sorry for the stupid question. Also.. if the answer is the latter, ETA on the next patch? xD Thank you
