Act Bosses are challenging -- nightmare feels like hell in diablo 2 difficulty wise. The random bosses and champion packs are very challenging.
Theres some combination of random bosses I dont see how people will live tru in hardcore, given it takes 10 seconds to leave a game.
Jailer/mortar comes to mind. Some combination of monster and random abilities makes sure you die.
I'm doing something like 1500 dps @ nightmare and it still takes forever to kill monsters in full games.
I'm still not sure on the itemization -- its certainly far away from the Diablo 2 model. I really like to see the "item change" tool tip that lets you know what youll gain and what youll lose whenever you change an item. Items makes it so you can tinker your characters in anyway you wish. I havent seen any uniques or set items yet in 15 hours of play.
Gold is a necessity, you need it for everything. I guess thats good. I havent tried the auction house yet but it seems like a good way to make that much needed gold.
In retrospect, im enjoying myself quite a lot. I cant wait to get to hell/infernal and see if this game will keep its playerbase or not. I give this game a 9.5/10 after 15 hours of play.
I'm not quitting r99 over this but ill certainly play a bit less than I am currently.

Pretty accurate.
Even at 1500 dps on your char sheet, it depends how fast you are able to generate and spend your class resource, so there's some balance to that. In short, how much you put out versus what it says on the char sheet.. well, that's on you.
Yeah if you get some shit like jailer + arcane enchanted you can almost guaruntee a death. However, as I play through nightmare (I'm going to do it solo on my DH because people REFUSE to up their vitality), I find I die less and less as I go up until before I got DC'd last night I went through several check points without a death after changing my abils around.
