You can make red +1000% Xp. People just dont wanna play on red... its that simple. EQ pvp is lacking. The outcry from the pvp community was just way over blown before red came out. Forums troll cried till GMs gave in and now we have a wasted server. SoV Beta will triple server pop. Just my 2cp

Correct. Here's the thing that most PvPers just don't get. People don't like getting ganked for just running along minding their own business. For most people, this just ain't fun.

Have you tried the pvp server since the latest exp increase? It seems a lot of people don't even realize there was an increase on top of the (100% at Level 1 to 0% at Level 50. (100 - (Level * 2))) bonus. I have dropped in the past few days to check on the pvp server and exp wasn't being discussed.

I did notice a decent xp increase like two weeks ago, but right now I'm not noticing any increase. It feels as slow as it's ever been.

Regarding the other servers' populations: it's the same as it has always been. Boxing 2-10 accounts will do that. If it was allowed here, there would be like 2000 people online sometimes. From what I've seen, there have been more players on p99 and r99 for the past week than I have seen in the past month. The general population for all eqemu servers should all be improving as there are really no other games to play.

What I noticed was a huge population increase on servers that were never large, and I wondered what caused it. Like right now The Hidden Forest is the most populated, and that's out of nowhere (I'm always paying attention to populations on EQemu launcher for some reason). I also think I might have checked it earlier when p99 was just coming back online which explains why it was low.

What's most important is that out of the hundreds of people that play emulated EQ, only a small percentage play pvp, so as far as r99 it won't be seeing decent numbers.

(might I suggest soulbinders on r99? It's impossible to find binds with such low numbers, so a soulbinder can at least simulate a higher population where binds are available. It may not be classic, but low population and no binds available isn't classic either.)

Exp increased twice, but need people to bring people, and people need something to achieve to come back. Hundreds of 50s didn't leave because of exp rates.

Classic ignorant blue player comment. EQ pve is much more imbalanced than EQ pvp, so whats your point? I guess you have to quit p99 now.

I've heard this spiel since 99, and its simply not true. All classes have their strengths and weaknesses, and any class well played can be good and a lot of fun. There are plenty of mechanics to avoid dying in pvp, for all classes. Most players aren't patient or skilled enough to learn them.

You're looking to bring back old players, I'm looking to bring in new players, and that's because I don't think too many old players will want to return but new players may not be aware of all the problems the server used to have.

Kunark is definitely a must. Plus something odd is going on. Right now I see 166 on p99, 353 on Hidden Forest (wtf server is that?), 260 EZ Server, 248 PEQ The Grand Creation, 240 Dragon Soul (again, wtf are these two servers?), and 21 r99.

What in the world happened to populations the past week? I've never seen them like this.

I'm not just trying to get old players back per se, but I know if theres no action at high levels, theres less incentive for new players to play.

I came to the server to level up and fight over contested exp/item/raid mobs. If there were no guild rivalries, I doubt I'd have made it to 50.

What is true though is that people don't want to play on red. That's why blue is so popular and r99 + LoZ combined don't come near blue's population. It may be fun for some, but it's obviously not fun for the great majority of EQ players. It's a reality we all have to accept, because otherwise we may be disappointed when our grand visions of a red server with 200+ players at all hours don't come true.

Blue is going strong at over 400 players for a good part of the day. For me personally, I don't find the desire to level up and acquire loot if there's no pvp (one of the reasons I've avoided Diablo 3), but I do still dabble on blue from time to time because it's just such a different atmosphere (and it's fun to actually have a populated server).

Again, before someone accuses me of flaming, I'm not. Believe it or not I do play on both servers, red more than blue. It's not like I'm an outsider from another server that's only here to badmouth these servers.

Also there is people who do enjoy it, just as in classic its just a fraction of the people who prefer the predictable and comfortable style of blue.

I for one will always prefer red servers because the additional control over your environment is addictive for me.
