Can anyone explain to me what the problem even is? Like what is physically happening and why do we seem to deal with it more here.
The problem is with the world server that handles logins to the server and zones. If the problem exists on both servers we probably only see it on blue because it is likely an incremental problem caused by a user action like zoning, which occurs much more on blue. It could be some unreleased resources on an action, perhaps even particular to zoning in Kunark.

This server has lost its connection to the worldserver (loginserver). Zoning and global chats are not availbale. If it were the whole server there wouldn't even be 77 people on
You...don't understand how this works so let me explain.

The world server connects to the login server right? World server, among many things, handles moving from one zone to another. Every single zone that is "up" has it's own individual zone server that communicates with the world server as well as any clients actively connected to that zone. When that message appears it means that the world server has lost it's connection with the login server. NOT that the login server has gone down. When the login server goes down all servers cease communication, all players are booted, and the world server goes into an infinitely looping attempt to reestablish connection, which obviously fails until the login server is brought back up. When the world server drops, however, all people that are still with a single zone may continue playing, as they are still being handled by their individual zone server. However if they were to attempt to zone, log in/out, go linkdead, die, or anything of that nature, the world server is no longer there to handle the transition between zone servers and the player is booted from the game.

Make sense?

I should also probably mention this as I think this is where you're getting confused. The world server is specific to that individual server. P99 has it's own world server, P99 Red has it's own world server, PEQ has it's own world server, EZ has it's own world server, THF has it's own world server, and EVERY single zone on each server has their own individual zone servers. However EVERY server shares the same login server. If the world server drops it only affects the server that world server belonged to. If the login server drops, EQEmu doesn't work....period. People can't log in, people can play, servers can't connect. Even the EQEmu forums go down, as they are hosted on the same box. Or at least were once upon a time, I'm unsure if they still are.

Ah, I thought the worldserver was literally that: A server for all worlds (servers). Otherwise, we're on the same page. Practice on not being so mad all of the time though? [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Thanks.
