It does. It also has permanent detrimental effects on the brain, though you'll deny that as well. It's ok I don't blame you for sticking to your guns, I'm just not afraid to point out where people are wrong.

Somebody isn't keeping up with modern research, now that it is actually being done.

Quote:
The latest review, published in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B, suggests that activating the brain’s cannabinoid system may trigger a sort of anti-oxidant cleanse, removing damaged cells and improving the efficiency of the mitochrondria, the energy source that powers cells, ultimately leading to a more robustly functioning brain.

Previous studies have linked cannabinoids to increased amounts of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a substance that protects brain cells and promotes the growth of new ones. Since new cell growth slows or stops during aging, increasing BDNF could potentially slow the decline in cognitive functions.

I think some of you morons took Reefer Madness to be a scientifically vetted film.

I'm actually referring to THC's effect on the brain's ability to process dopamine, which is irreversible. Nice try though.

When I quit weed I couldn't sleep right for a few weeks, because I always smoked before bed. I also felt a bit slower cognitively while smoking; one could translate that to 'a bit dumber' and I would agree with that. Science or not, I felt slower smoking weed than not.
