Yup. Homeless drug addicts will use their FULL medical and mental health Medicaid coverage to abuse the living shit out of the mental health system

Anytime they want a break from the streets, all they have to do is flag down a cop or ask someone to call the fire department, and say they are going to kill themselves

With this + their insurance they can now access the nicest private behavioral health hospitals in the state. We took a middle-class depressed woman who had just lost her job to one of these…there were 3 homeless men in the lobby who smelled like human shit, talking about how much fentanyl they could get in prison. Do you know how hard it was to keep that lady from leaving out of total fear that these are the people she is going to be around for the next week?

It’s called “malingering” and it happens a shitttttload in my state. It costs the state millions upon millions of dollars, sometimes for a single homeless person
Medicaid puts you in the worst places in my state. No private hospitals will take Medicaid patients here except for the absolute mandatory ER care. Like behavioral health in this state is worse than the prison the Parkland shooter wound up. Plus they get back on the street. Or in the case of the innocent shoved in with the meth heads ppl find ways to kill themselves around incompetent and hateful overworked staff.

Not the meth heads tho. They get their meth cigarette rations. And they are cool with it.

Dude we need a full on revolution so bad and G-d forgive the druggie malingerers- they need to be the first to go before the rebels come for the next grp.

G-d forgive me too. This is where we need actually angels coming down from heaven and passing judgment on the sinful.

We need this in my state. We try to push the homeless towards the public hospitals that aren’t like spa’s like the nice private ones, but every single hardened chronically homeless person will refuse these every time

“I want copper springs!” (The nicest private one) they know what to say and we can’t refuse them if their insurance will cover it

Drug abuse and addiction needs a serious prison system that permanently removes freedom and keeps them separate from any other populations. Forever. Even cigarettes and alcohol. Any addiction really. Once ppl become addicted it's pretty much game over.

Maybe if you're clean for like 2 years and do an actual tour of duty like 5 years u could potentially get 1 extra second chance.

Granted some addicts aren't that bad and already did their tour of duty. Those guys should get all the drugs they want in a comfortable hospice setting.

Not millennial tiktoker shit heads tho.

Edit: oh yea and one of the homeless guys in the situation I mentioned was so incredibly drunk/high, his basketball shorts had gone down to his knees to where you could see dick, balls, and asshole as he staggered up to the counter. Of course he was far too drunk to be able to sign himself in, so the front desk lady had to listen to him slur his answers to her so she could fill out the paperwork for him
My son was an ER nurse in Houston, TX and my daughter had to deliver crack babies during residency as an OB/GYN

I’ve heard it all and it has framed my thinking on this topic. On the one hand, if you work, even as a janitor or garbage man, we need you and your civic participation should entitle you to a minimum level of privilege that neither leaves you miserable or unhealthy. At the same time, we are a people who live on the exploitation of others. And I don’t mean race or any of that, I mean a mechanic will lie to a woman and a plumber will say things need repairs that don’t. Everyone wants a buck and increasingly, people like Alphys don’t want to work at all

I can’t think of a bigger piece of shit than a man who won’t work. You’re not even a man at that point if you ask me

My brother in law has come back from the abyss I think, but he’s flat broke and 5 years on only finally talking to his son, my nephew, who he attacked with a butcher knife over some 10/325 Norco

If we had national service, we could constructively give these people enough structure in their daily lives such that they could be forcefully kept clean but also have some life. Throwing people away is burdensome to the state and frankly, we are bankrupt

The janitor needs a crack at recovery.

The addict who is (or was) perfectly capable of working needs literal slavery or a field full of daisies they can go feed.
