Yup. Homeless drug addicts will use their FULL medical and mental health Medicaid coverage to abuse the living shit out of the mental health system
Anytime they want a break from the streets, all they have to do is flag down a cop or ask someone to call the fire department, and say they are going to kill themselves
With this + their insurance they can now access the nicest private behavioral health hospitals in the state. We took a middle-class depressed woman who had just lost her job to one of these…there were 3 homeless men in the lobby who smelled like human shit, talking about how much fentanyl they could get in prison. Do you know how hard it was to keep that lady from leaving out of total fear that these are the people she is going to be around for the next week?
It’s called “malingering” and it happens a shitttttload in my state. It costs the state millions upon millions of dollars, sometimes for a single homeless person
Edit: oh yea and one of the homeless guys in the situation I mentioned was so incredibly drunk/high, his basketball shorts had gone down to his knees to where you could see dick, balls, and asshole as he staggered up to the counter. Of course he was far too drunk to be able to sign himself in, so the front desk lady had to listen to him slur his answers to her so she could fill out the paperwork for him

My son was an ER nurse in Houston, TX and my daughter had to deliver crack babies during residency as an OB/GYN
I’ve heard it all and it has framed my thinking on this topic. On the one hand, if you work, even as a janitor or garbage man, we need you and your civic participation should entitle you to a minimum level of privilege that neither leaves you miserable or unhealthy. At the same time, we are a people who live on the exploitation of others. And I don’t mean race or any of that, I mean a mechanic will lie to a woman and a plumber will say things need repairs that don’t. Everyone wants a buck and increasingly, people like Alphys don’t want to work at all
I can’t think of a bigger piece of shit than a man who won’t work. You’re not even a man at that point if you ask me
