![]() Not schizo shit. Actually super important questions we should be asking ourselves, as opposed to deferring to an institution who has power because we give it that power freely

![]() Last night someone asked me why homelessness wasn't a problem when they were young (boomers amright?) I was like, well your generation got rid of all the asylums and my generation was ok with it because we were told they were inhumane.
Then I went home and watched one flew over the cookcoos nest. I cant believe I never noticed it before, but (except for that whole lobotomy scene) these asylums were basically a free drugs, get high, go to group therapy, interact with people, and be taken care of by the state care centers. Like I thought they were all crazies in that movie, but now that I have lived and worked with homeless people in my life I'm like, it seems to me those asylum's were just a free get high centers. Their day to day life in them is not too different than the day to day life at a tent city, or on the streets. Surrounded by like minded folks, doing lots of drugs, sleeping a lot, only they get free showers, food, drugs and have beds in one scenario.. And we've all seen the John Oliver and Daily show think pieces on how scandanavia does it right by giving people heroin and drugs legally etc. We need them back. Also their architecture was great: https://www.pinterest.com/MrEvilBoy8...ndoned-asylum/ | ||
