Pretty much pulled the scene right out of Erin Brokovich. The money needed to replace the water pipes (infrastructure) will never be granted becauss it's too high, so most cities mitigate the leeching of lead via water treatment.

The sad reality. Water treatments do work to limit the amount of leeched lead. It could be paid for, the money is there, but neither side will take it from elsewhere even tho' solidifying the nations infrastructure would create tens upon tens of thousands of jobs all over the country and would be a new deal of sorts. Too bad that makes sense on a local and federal level, so, sadly, it'll never happen. Especially since both parties have made infrastructure just a talking point and nothing else.

Was trying for a soon to be defunct blogger tone with a hint of despair with that one. Punditry can be a career. Realistic journalism is just too slow in the age of Amazon
