actually its standard to tip valets too, i wouldnt expect you to know that though
the guy is an idiot and he either does't do repeat business anywhere that tipping is customary or he generally has bad experiences at these places and doesn't understand why.

I'm going to go ahead and tell him, seeing how he didn't gather it from my earlier posts.

You tip, not because you have to or because it's required, you tip for good service and so people are have an incentive to treat you better. If you visit an establishment and the waiter/waitress is on point all night long and your service couldn't have possibly been better, you tip so that he/she remembers you and you are more likely to receive that treatment again. Same with any other place where tipping is customary. Works the same way with porters in EQ, tip them well for doing a good job and you'll see that you never have to worry about a port again (I've gotten plenty of CR ports for free from porters I've tipped before and they've dropped groups to do it and then went back to what they were doing).

some of you guys are just idiots and don't know how to invest in your own time.

If people don't do their job, I report them to management. It's as simple as that. Do your job or I'll get you fired.

If everyone thought like you, then employers would have to raise hourly wages to retain workers, and the products would be more expensive to cover the lost revenue. Essentially you are just being subsidized by the non-dickheads of the world. So good job on that.

They won't get fired, you just end up looking like an asshole.

Let me tell you what happens. You report them to management, management "scolds" the employee and "punishes" them. You feel like a big guy with a big peepee. After you're gone, they all laugh at you and write down that you're a huge douche. You visit again and get subpar experience.

Not selfish at all. Nobody owes anyone anything in this game, especially their time, when they aren't grouped together.

If you don't want to pay what someone is charging for a port, a rez, or whatever, get it from someone else. Or walk your happy ass there. Ports aren't required, they are a luxury.

And I report them again for treating me with less respect and substandard service than everyone else. And then they get fired. They can laugh at me all they want, I did the right thing.
