Always felt like there was something going on with my stomach near my belly button, for years now. My abs never looked quite right

Well, finally got the nerve to see a Dr who ordered an ultrasound for me. And turns out, I was right: I’m pregnant

With a small little hernia. I decided to name him Hermie. He’s just a widdle guy, and he’s shy, you can’t see him at all, nor does my belly button protrude or anything

Right now, he’s less than 1 cubic cm. But like any baby boy, he’s going to get bigger. Sometimes when I’m bent over at an angle picking up a 45lb plate at the gym or somethin, I can feel him move and kick a little. He’s going to grow up to be a soccer player boy I think, my little Hermie

Hernias are incredibly common in the fitness community when doing heavy lifting; your abdominal wall is always going to be extremely thin compared to other muscles. What frustrates me is I actually train abs consistently, unlike fitness influencers like Greg Doucette who says he doesn’t feel he needs to train abs because they are used in so many dynamic lifts like deadlifts and squats (which I also do). But regularly training abs didn’t save me. I think it actually happened due to some bad coughing fits I had years ago tbh

My uncle has had a hernia for like two decades now. With baby boy Hermie’s size, a lot of guys just ignore them. My issue is that I’m about them aesthetics, and carrying Hermie around is fucking with that. It pushes my stomach out very slightly, making me look a tiny bit fatter than I really am. Which is annoying, because I go through a lot to keep my fat down to a certain low amount, mostly for the looks

So I might get that surgery where they do the mesh net. But I can’t get it done before I go to SD for a week at the end of this month. So I’m going to still get as aesthetic as I can before then, and maybe get the surgery sometime after I get back. Sucks to have to take a month off to recover. But lost muscle is very easily regained. The RP fitness channel did a video on muscle memory, and lost muscle can be re-grown at up to 10x the rate of original growth

So I might still do a progress pic in less than 2 weeks before the trip. But for now, here’s the ultrasound summary. And who said men can’t get pregnant? Of course there’s no father, so I guess I must be the male version of mother Mary [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

What makes this extra disturbing is that someone did an investigation into Pedophiles on Tik Tok who were donating real $ with code word “roses” to minor girls for something called a “fit check” which involved them lifting their shirts to show their abs

And this cartoonish caricature of an Alpha Male influencer is doing it in an auditorium full of men using his own children wearing spandex booty shorts

CPS needs to give this dude a call

Had given a baby chuckwalla some water, I think it was last weekend

This was the backstory I posted on fb to my 200k member state hiking channel. What pisses me off is that YouTube short cropped the screen for some reason, cropping out the lizard that shown fully in the original vid

Gave a thirsty baby chuckwalla some water on my hike. Almost accidentally stepped on a bigger adult’s head further up, and that one ran when I tried to give him water like “you think I’m gonna accept that after you almost stomped my head?”. But other hikers who saw it said that after I continued down, he came out and drank off the rock. He just didn’t want to give me the satisfaction of seeing cause he still mad I bet

I had a buddy who was in a car crash and developed a hernia from it. There were a couple surgery options for the repair, the doctor even told him to consider NOT repairing it since it wasn't a big hernia, and wasn't causing him issues other then the little bump by his belly button.. Anyways he chose the mesh option you are considering cause it was the least invasive. Long story short- He sneezed at work about a year later and blew the mesh out...

Ty yea I’ve heard from multiple co-workers about controversies and I think lawsuits regarding some of the mesh net materials used. That really sucks for your buddy, and what’s sad is it’s full price again or more (probably more complicated now) for the next one [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I’m tempted to tell the doctor let’s do a bunch of nets. Let’s reinforce the whole abdomen with back up nets while we’re at it, I hate surgery and don’t want to be back here. Preferably ab-shaped ones

Haha yeah it's 2025, it's a common injury in guys, and women too through pregnancies. And we're still just like- "Yeah just throw a patch onto that abdonimal wall".. Just seems like we can do better for something that's so common..... And make it somewhat affordable..
