Which leads to the point that yes society does decide what offends people but now we are talking about redefining what offends people based on individual circumstances and trying to make sure no one is offended (Not going to happen). People like the vocal majority for the left here declaring themselves judge of what breaks the rules for offence. No one knows any more. Is this hand motion racist? Is this mocking a retard?

The media is working on redefining definitions to those who are less likely to have the competency to understand the magnitude of "trying to make everyone happy." You don't strive for happy, you strive to be a better person, good bad or ugly. The world is unfair by nature.

In come the democratic party that all have different philosophies on what offends people. Hence the 20 candidates. The conservative platform is that since we all have different definitions of offending, we can't determine an offence until a crime has been committed. Language or signaling doesn't constitute. You may not agree with someone's behavior but until it is a crime, it is a matter of difference of opinion.
