No, but Fox was by and large responsible for getting the "news as entertainment" ball rolling during the 90's and it fought tooth and nail to keep being able to push bald-faced lies as news. I will always hold a grudge against Fox for that, even though the other networks have since followed Fox's lead.

"We print so much crap nobody in his right mind would trust us" used to be the kind of nonsense that'd get laughed out of court. Our major media is effectively on a tabloid level now. It stinks.
