Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party has won the 2019 Canadian federal election, according to a projection from the Canadian Broadcasting Company. While the Liberals lost seats in parliament, controlling only a plurality of seats rather than an outright majority, they still have enough to keep control of government.

President Trump compares impeachment inquiry to 'lynching.'

Trump has compared the impeachment process against him to being lynched in an incendiary tweet that sparked outcry on Tuesday morning. “So some day, if a Democrat becomes President and the Republicans win the House, even by a tiny margin, they can impeach the President, without due process or fairness or any legal rights,” the president wrote. “All Republicans must remember what they are witnessing here – a lynching.”

Update: White House says Trump’s ‘lynching’ tweet unrelated to ‘dark times’ for African Americans.

White House spokesman Hogan Gidley insisted that Trump’s reference to lynching was not comparing his treatment during the impeachment process to what happened to African Americans in the South during “dark times” in U.S. history.

I think Trump is pretty disgusting, but you know what is also disgusting? Turning his use of a word into a way to turn people's murder into a way to score political points against Trump.

It also further desensitizes the target audience. That was for the alt-right folks and especially the younger set who grew up on the internet. The race-baiting has been dude's bread and butter since well before he took office. It is pretty obvious that SHOCK AND OUTRAGE will happen.

There is a plus side to it, and it has been a slow-mover until somewhat recently: The more progressive of the GOP are beginning to peel away from the mob. Unfortunately though, it does play into the white supremacy groups who have been grooming young people for quite a while now.
