17 episodes into my rewatch of Bab5 over the last couple days.

so much better than DS9, Farscape, StarGate imo i haven't watched enough Battlestar Gallactica but i heard that might be the numero uno with a bullet point

the main story line plot is real fuckin good, takes like half season 1 to get going though

the cgi is pretty rough also

yeah, for 1994 it's actually fucking amazing now that i think about it, some other shows from that era hold up worse

i remember trying to go back and watch like Space above and beyond and something else and it was real bad

The Species era. I hated the species era at the time, but now that i hate modern everything I enjoy being teleported to a simpler time. The Species time.

Sliders is probably the worst for CGI that aged poorly, I think budget cuts in later seasons might have made it worse [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Babylon 5 and Space: Above and Beyond

The visual effects for both Babylon 5 and Space: Above and Beyond were created primarily with NewTek's LightWave 3D software. For hardware, the effects were often rendered on Amiga personal computers with a Video Toaster add-on card. As technology advanced, productions like Space: Above and Beyond also started using more powerful DEC Alpha and early Pentium PCs running Windows NT.

Sliders

Information on the specific CGI hardware and software for the television show Sliders is not readily available. However, given the timeframe, it is highly likely that the production would have used similar industry-standard tools for television CGI, such as LightWave 3D on platforms like the Amiga or PC workstations.

Reboot

As one of the first fully computer-animated television series, Reboot was a groundbreaking production. The show was created using Softimage Creative Environment software on Silicon Graphics (SGI) workstations. SGI workstations were high-end, powerful machines that were crucial for the complex, full-CGI animation of the series.
