Two player champions of norrath pretty fun. my friend is running a SK and I'm running a wizard, simply because I know I would never play the wizard in a solo run. So far the wizard sucks absolute dick compared to ranger/sk/warrior but I am hoping that level 15+ spells make up for it as the AOEs kick in. Additionally, I am somehow half a level behind his SK in exp. even when we experimented with me running ahead killing mobs solo. I went in blind but maybe I need to meta game this shit =p

I soloed Naggy And Vox 42 on HJ.

I tried at 30 and died.

Now I go to settle some scores in VP!

HJ is like Paths of Exile + EQ.

You can kill the sleeper on HJ.

It's a cooool game.

It's extremely easy to setup too.

Fedora Linux 42 has dropped and has enormous advances on games implimented under wine with some gqmes gaining upto 100% better framerates.
Forza, call of duty and resident evil have 50 - 200% increased framerates (as fps was limited before waylands better integration with newer gpus)

Makes me wanna wear my old hat again.

feels like not even a couple years ago the concept of this server would have been met with wide resistance from eq fans but it's more successful than any eqemu that came before it

things like this make me think really hard about simulation theory there are so many instances in the last couple years where public opinion on whatever shifted like someone just flipped a switch

SteamOS + Windows 10 dying this year, we might push that 1% of linux userbase to like 2 or 2.5%

It already has surpassed that:

Linux has achieved a new high in desktop market share, according to the latest data from Statcounter. The open-source operating system accounted for 4.45 percent of the global desktop operating system market as of July 2024, compared to 3.12 percent market share in July 2023.
Microsoft isn't saying anything publicly, but Steam Deck is threatening their monopoly like no one else before has.

It's the perfect storm of modern MMORPGs all being full of cash shop nasties and being able to solo content you may have never seen or not seen since its original release in an interesting twist. I couldn't find a combo I enjoyed and am taking a break but I'll probably give it another try at some point.

Are they going past PoP? That's where I quit originally so seeing some later expansions could be really good.

That msg was a heads up for those interested.

Linux will never make an impact until more morons become less moronic. IE, never gonna happen.

Wayland + a good card may allow those linux enthusiasts currently struggling (and persisting) payback for all those bug reports.
There is a reason its called a linux community.

If I am Microsoft, I make a sleeker version of Windows for gamers, cut all the bullshit they've been adding since basically windows XP. Actually yeah, just make a modernized 64-bit windows XP, throw a name on it, and keep it supported. Stop adding cortana, web search in my file explorer, and the 9,000 other things I have to manually disable everytime I do a new install.

I think you just overestimate how much people prioritize tinkering with an OS in their daily lives... Most people just don't give a shit. Plenty of intelligent people who don't allocate their daily life ticking to such things.
