2025 new p99 Gold server

Yesterday and today, I was going to try out Quarm ( my 3 toons that I regularly play are on p99 green ).


Quarm is not up right now - the rumor I heard was days to weeks until it is back up.

Quarm does not have a server status page so I was curious and I looked at server status page for DBG:

They have 27 servers: 1 is Test, another is Beta.

But they only have *3* servers that have "high" server pop:

I then wondered about WOW server status page:

Blizzard has 30+ servers in US that are 'Full'.

Blizzard also has 23 Roleplaying servers out of the huge list of servers, but only 1 is 'Full'.

Well there are like 600 people logged in Green on a Saturday afternoon - Either pull the plug or launch a new server, what are we doing here?

Waiting for them bite the bullet, allow character transfers even if you have to strip them, and then let the museum janitors -- us -- decide how this continues.

Not allowing character transfers is locking, by mere dint of server location mind you, this niche community into various forms of "well this sucks."

Is p99 afraid DPG will say "oh, you have to erase those xferred chars, because we got troubles"?

I agree.

A lot of what p99 devs ( Rogean, Nilbog, Telin et al ) and csr ( Medris et all ) can do moving forward depends on what DBG will legally allow them to do.

Secrets was able to get permission from DBG to operate Quarm but only a single server and Quarm has to *start* in Luclin.

What if we tried to take both p99 green and p99 blue offline to merge green toons to blue and when bring p99 blue back up it has AAs. Then a month later could reset The Sleeper so all those max level toons have a goal.

Since the only p99 server up would be red, maybe create a yellow text leaderboard along with a contest with prizes awarded to the winning player's toon on p99 blue. ( Manastone / Fungi / etc )

After contest done, repurpose p99 red as p99 green 2.0.

After p99 green 2.0 is stable then can repurpose p99 green 1.0 as p99 FV

I am sure this is a ton of work for the p99 team but I feel that doing in stages might be less stressful

i mean... the best you could argue is it's a apples to applesauce comparison or something. it seems pretty relevant to the discussion like bringing up any other eqemu box would be and dealing with [current ip holder]
