I'd post about my gains, except I'm fucking 30% bf so I'm cutting for like... 6 months or some shit... before I get to add much/any muscle mass.
Was 6'1 250 and only doing like 120 squat, 110 bench, proportional with other lifts (10-rep numbers), but I've dropped to 237ish in the 7 weeks I've been doing this beginner, full-body program I'm doing while adding (or not dropping, at least) weight on any of my lifts. Finally started strength training recently after realizing that I'd been wasting me time trying to get back in shape doing cardio here or there over the last several years; I get too fucking bored doing any cardio except running to stick with it, and running kills my knees (iliotibial band syndrome, I think?) and I never figured out stretches/exercises/shoes/whatever to calm that shit down so I could walk for the week following a few days of 5k jogs. Kinda fun watching macros and calories with some specific purpose other than "I'm fat and should not be this fat any more." Keeps me entertained. Bought a power cage and using some ancient standard weights I found in my Dad's garage. Look forward to every Monday. Heavy day best day. | ||
