On an individual level, sure that's true. But we're not the least bit united, we rarely if ever help or even know our next door neighbors.

No one seems to believe in us.

And who could blame them? If the US was a stock, I wouldn't invest.

This guy makes a great point about that. We should all try to remember first and foremost we are Americans. To me that’s worth a lot.

The very few Leftists I know in real life are not all that bad.

Except for my cousin's girlfriend. Holy shit, she goes out of the way to be a total bitch. She wouldn't let my aunt see her newborn baby because she is a Trump supporter and happens to believe in god.

She'll randomly call her up and just say "I got your daughter to admit that god doesn't exist."

But she's just a total bitch. She would be that way without politics, if possible.

If i see a disabled motorist tryin to change a tire or address their issue, I stop and ask if i can help.

If i see someone struggling to load their vehicle at somewhere like home depot, i ask if i can help.

If a short person is trying to reach a higher shelf in a store, i ask if i can help.

I have brochures for the local food bank and shelter, if i see a homeless person, I hand them out.

When i encounter people struggling with mental illness, i counsel them of my own experiences and try to talk them into getting help.

If someone says they wanna kill themselves, I firmly state: "You're going to have to go through me first"

In general, I try to help anyone that I can. Because when I was down, at my lowest point, friends, family and even strangers were there to help me.

The American Community is hurting, but it is not dead.

Not as long as I'm out there.
