WOTLK was horrible before 3.3 and then actually got good. Ulduar too. The abomination in between needed to be aborted. No trash in a raid was snoresville. I just play casually for PvP since my armor never is outdated and if it is I go OCD and fix it.

Ulduar was by far my favorite raid instance from Wrath, mostly because it's just Norse mythology. The entire quest chain with the Sons of Hodir gave me a half-boner. Woulda been nice if they, ya know, changed Freya and Sif's names, but whatever, it was still good. Minimal trash or not fighting trash at all makes raiding seem really uninvolved. There weren't nearly enough trash mobs in ICC (compare it to something like Karazhan or Black Temple), but ToC was an interesting concept...woulda been way better if it was a World Event, though. I can't really speak about Cataclysm other than the 28ish hours it took me to get to 85 was fun, but the dungeons, PvP changes and the fact that 25 man raids were basically obsolete killed it for me. The ridiculously high numbers for everything were also a big issue.
