These games are designed by psychologists to suck people in, get them hooked, then make them hit a paywall to manipulate them to try to buy their way out, specifically through addictive gambling purchases. You can’t buy the OP items, you can buy the CHANCE to get the OP item. Makes you spend more and get that dopamine rush from winning via gambling which they want you to become addicted to I’ve watched the vids and know what tricks they will try here. You will gain steady power spikes until level 30ish, in which case your progression will continue to slow. At that point the best use of your time is logging in to do a daily quest, possibly checking to see if there is an event (occurs every 2 hours with decent rewards) and then bailing. There is almost no point to trying to slog through grinding progression as F2P past level 30. You can exp and grind, but only if you are bored with literally nothing else better to do, it shouldn’t be a priority because the reward for time spent is basically almost nothing. This is very different than the daily and events, which give a big reward for a few minutes of time So that’s the plan. Level 14 now. Once I get to 30 it’ll be minimal playing. Or else I might make a new char and try other classes out until the level 30 paywall. I’m glad I checked the warnings about this particular game’s pay scheme tactics so I’m prepared ahead of time and won’t be wasting huge chunks of time for almost no reward

What is the minimum amount of money required to hit 60 and finish the main quest without getting OP?

I was blown away by how far the tech has come, and did not expect a char to control that well using my fat sausage fingers on a phone. The gameplay is engaging for a phone game, it’s a shame that it’s P2W as F I don’t plan to pvp at all to prevent giving any sad whales the chance to justify their huge wastes of money to themselves

Some twitch streamer dropped $4k on stream and couldn’t even create a T4 gem or crest or whatever it’s called, when T5 is the max So it’s whaling harder than the Japanese did to actual whales. It’s whaling like desperate guys do when they strike out at the club What’s going to happen is they’ll feign surprise and go “oh, is this too P2W rigged and not F2P friendly enough, we’ll very slightly change it” like months later after they’ve cash grabbed to fake like they listen to consumers. Or they won’t. They very well could still say “Fuck you, pay me”. The sky is the limit with blizz now. It’s a shame that the gameplay is actually good for a phone game like I said

I think maybe you can get a battlepass for $14.99 and maybe spend an aditional $10 or something to quickly get through the main Solo quest of the game and hit lvl 60?
Sadly that is on a per character basis, I think. Which would screw anyone completing multiple characters. So X6 --- update --- it's per account so I'll round it up to $30 per character to hit 60 and beat the main quest solo. So you gotta do a $180 purchase to play MOST of the entire game and never get the best gear (who cares though best gear is the dumbest thing in MMOs these days). Anyway hth. ??? it's pure speculation tho. Actually $180 is not bad for a really good tripple AAA launch title if it gave u everything for $180 (mega inflation) forever for good per expansion I would be cool with that. Although I feel like DI falls short on the triple AAA difficulty scaling. For that a solo run through hell mode should take like 90hrs and be fun and difficult and rewarding. It's not from what I can tell the whales are kinda disappointed in what they are getting. Are the devs sabotaging netease by making the base game more interesting than the whaling version? I agree you shouldn't pvp in this game. From what I can tell there is a mostly only 3 % difference in difficulty between normal and hellish characters and uber gear (like rank 2 stuff for the $1000 plebes). From reading reddit posts. I whaled for wow a little bit. I bought like several tokens. And mounts and transmogs from the store. And a toy or something. So the potential whaleiness of me scares me. If someone came out with a really good game they could whale me good. I heard games like path of exile are sort of insanity though. That said.... if my monthly wow and EQ subscriptions probably have tallied upto... 120 months of subscription time.. I have spent a lot on those games. Totalling at least $2,000 if u count a few minor purchases in the EQ cash shop as well. Over the course of 10 years worth of subs divided between the games. By these metrics these online games are really expensive to play compared to like Deus Ex. Which I have played at least 5 times and paid only $45 for, probably more like $90 adjusted for inflation. And I bought multiple games in the series. So bring that up to at least $300, Deus Ex and Deus Ex invisible war where the best though, Mankind Divided and stuff was OK storywise, the difficulty was shit tho and the level design meh to OK. Are we all just whales waiting to happen? --- It is a way cheaper hobbie than flying lear jets. Base Jumping. Shooting guns. Racing cars. At least with brewing alcohal and gardening or raising goats u would get a return for your investment that is more than just entertainment. If I could stick myself into a pod with a skinner box for the rest of my life and just tube feed myself on my disability check (retirement check from social security counts too) I would. And I would probably currently chose WoW, maybe. I'm looking forward to the day I can get paid for piloting an NPC character [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] That said, I definitely have spent more on alcohol and movies for the total time of my life --- and I quit both of those for at least over 5 years now, I saw one movie in the last 5 years. So. I do have a subscription to a streaming service 😬 TLDR everything burns away --- DI has the potential to burn fast. Does it need too? Is it necessary? Or can you be an amateur whale?
