Here's my 2 cents, which isn't worth much but...

If you actually stayed till the end when we got to put the smack down on lvl 60 super CT then you'll
probably look back on last night when you wake up today as having been a ton of fun...If you left during
the zone crashes...you probably thought it was horrible.

I'll admit when fear started crashing at the north wall I was going to get my corpse then gtfo out of the
zone as soon as possible just because I didn't want to have a corpse in fear at the north wall with a
repopped fear the next day lol.

But after I got rezzed and the zone stabilized (it did go semi wonky one more time right before we killed CT)
from that point on it became a ton of fun again and the icing on the cake was seeing 100 people go flying
across the zone from CT gfluxing...looking back on it I really did have a ton of fun. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

And for the people complaining about loot or x, y, and z...then of course you didn't have fun, if loot was your number
one concern / priority going into this then I guess you completely missed the point.

O how I miss the days of Uthgaard, where events were actually fun, exciting, and ORIGINAL! This is a game, so we are sorry that you are not having fun doing the job that you volunteered for. If your idea of fun is griefing the blue server to get your jollies off, go back to red.

The event last night to those who participated was a complete and utter waste of time for everyone involved. Stretching on into the 3-4am time slots on a weeknight, like most of the events that go on now, you got to see a normal CT and Inny in fear with 150+ people. Then by some gawd awful prank, of all guilds TMO is in charge of loot for some fkn reason. The guild who has the worst reputation for not playing nice or sharing is telling people to work together. This was by far the best joke of the evening. The close runner up was watching the live stream and laughing at how the event was a total cluster fuck on the staffs behalf. No one knew what they were doing.

So then don't participate?

I thought it was a "fair event" and it was something different. Only time I've ever had a chance to loot an AoN or Puppet Strings. At the end of the day though, events are not about loot, and I feel it was something different than vanilla play. If the lag out and zone crash problems didn't happen, I'm sure less people would be complaining. Those problems were out of GM control.

Not sure what people expect from a volunteer project.

I don't understand your complaining. If you thought it was crap, don't participate? Nobody was forcing you to do anything.

Maybe I'm just a cranky person, but when you run an event that is less fun than no event at all, I think criticism is justified. I mean, the whole reason people get excited for events is because they're supposed to be a special encounter that people can go to and have an unique and fun experience. If the broadcast had been "Wait in EC for over an hour for nothing to happen, then all scramble across the world to sit in another zone for a couple hours getting killed and DC'd, and then go to fear and do the same thing", I highly doubt as many people would have showed up.

No on is saying they don't appreciate what the server staff does, but when you hold an event that appears to have zero planning or foresight and get hundreds of players involved under the impression it would actually be a classic-esque holiday event, I don't think people are out of line for being a bit miffed when it end up not being any fun. I'm sure the intention was for it to be fun, but that doesn't mean everyone who doesn't pretend it was is some entitled jerk.

CT and Inny are loose in the world outside of their realms. Not clever, nor original, done last year without the engage. Its not about the loot, its the event as a whole. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't zones like EC and WC made to handle a higher population compared to zones like Lfay. Keeping the event in EC like what was announced hours before the actual event took place, would have prevented things like this from happening.

.......A normal CT and Inny in fear?

'Cause inny and CT in fear are normally lvl 60, CT normally has lvl 60 golems, and they usually roll with 500k hp. Also, inny is usually in fear kickin it with cazic. Not to mention both those mobs had abilities set that they don't usually have.

You can talk all you want about 'the days of uuthgaard', but the fact is that there was no such thing as 300 people in fear killing gods when uuth was around. We simply did not expect that big of a turn out (lfay was impossible to manage, and THOSE god mobs broke right off the bat - were not using any abilities we had set them up with at all. Those things should have been melting face fast enough to keep lfay population down).

You had 4 staff members in skype trying to fix the encounters and keep things exciting, and when we realized shit wasn't working, we adapted quickly and set something up that was 10x more fun in fear. If you didn't like it, sorry. I know a lot of people did, and i know we had fun running it.

Was waiting for this QQ thread once lfay started desyncing. Thx for making my morning [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

To everyone who enjoyed/had fun, your welcome! Next time we'll set something up that compensates for the desyncing problem (IE, keeps under 200 people in the zone).

Oh, and lowbie event was hiding items on merbs throughout norrath. Congrats to anyone who found our treats!
