shams advice is basically how I got through EC. I bought myself a full suit of bronze and a PGT before level 10, and still had a good deal of money left.

Lowbie tailoring is not a waste of time. Just pressing a button can easily double your income. I wouldn't bother with other crafts, though.

EC was anything but crowded. There was hardly anyone there.

Merbs are hard to come by in EC. Although you can get buffs etc I found that the levelling was quite slow here and almost not worth it tbh.

Always found Nektulos to be better than EC for those first 8-9 levels.

I found loot to be more scarce in Nek. I was never able to get a single HQ pelt in Nek, but in EC, I'd average about 2-3 per week.

"I'd average about 2-3 per week"
"2-3 per week"
"Per week"
"Week"

Why I don't like going to EC for newb levels - takes a week.

Wisps are the best option by far for new players who are at level to kill them safely while gaining xp. It's a very solid cash bump for those teen levels when you're struggling just to buy all your spells and whatnot.

Wisp isle in Eruds Crossing. Gather a dozen (or more, whatever) backpacks full of stones and turn them all in to the Dark Elf gals in South Ro (watch out for the ghoul pathing around there). If you don't have the cash for that many backpacks, sell lightstones to the merchants right there until you do.

You get xp, faction, and they return books you can sell for 1 (ls)/7 (gls)pp right there. If you're KOS to Dark Elves, this idea works doubly well for you because it results in massive Neriak faction gains, with no negatives.

The trip can be long and dangerous, and binding can sometimes be an issue, so it's not without risk. I thought the rewards were worth it, for sure, on my first character.

if you're levelling in Blackburrow, save your Rusty Spiked Shoulderpads. high level enchanters will buy them for a couple hundred plat a piece. they like to give them to their charmed pets for the negative magic resistance.

Yes, I should say a week of playtime for me is about 4-6 hours... and all of that solo.
