When it comes down to it the decision needs to be whats best for the project 1999 portfolio. What makes the overall picture look better that will attract and keep more players. There are cons with any decision.
Making some traders upset in EC tunnel sounds pretty minimal to me.

Well the obvious answer to making Teams REALLY popular is to make it as PvE friendly as possible, and that's not realistic... although with a team setup there is at least a portion of the server that resembles PvE in the form of your allies.

PvP death penalty - if it is the same as red99 minimal... you can only loot coin with no exp loss Exp bonus - compensated for the lost time with PvP. You can actually get more PvE done and enjoy some PvP. It doesn't get more blue than that for a PvP server. The only thing we don't know is what the level range will be on who you can attack. If that server is too red for someone then they probably aren't considering a PvP server in the first place.

The 'non-management' staff members (no Nilbog or Rogean) had a call to discuss rulesets a few days ago during which we mainly reviewed some of the better community-contributed posts.
We're going to hammer some more details out over the next week or so. I would then like to gather some community feedback on the proposed ruleset. This weekend I am going to be making a WBS (and hopefully publishing it) so people will have a clearer idea of what needs to be done / what has been done.

I also want to point out that this Teams PvP server will be the most friendly for casual players.
-Scaling exp bonus -1/3 of the population (if three teams) that are going to be more than willing to join your group for safey/exp -fresh start so you won't be penalized for not having great gear from the start. If I was anyone on blue or red that was a casual and didn't already have decked out Kunark gear it is a no brainer to start on the new server.

Never understood why people think teams pvp is more "blue" than FFA. I pvp'd way more on Vallon Zek then I did on Rallos. On teams if an enemy team is in your zone (or you go to their zone) you kill em no questions asked. Rallos was super blue unless you wanted to be shunned as a "pker". For 95% of the people, Rallos was just a blue server where you would get ganked here and there.

R99: I can kill anyone T99: I can only kill 66% of the people (assuming even team distribution) In reality it's more like this: R99: I can only kill about 10% of the people I see, because X% are in a friendly guild or one I don't want to piss off, this guy rezzed me once in Guk so I owe him and I'll leave him alone, this other guy is a friend of a friend, I don't want to kill this guy and get labeled a random PK and get ganked everywhere I go, etc. T99: I see someone, are they attackable? Yes? Attack! As a long time RZ and SZ player, I will agree with your statement 100%. There is FAR more PVP on a teams PVP server. Another piece of it was a much larger level range, although I'm not sure how well that would work with a small server population. I think it would become nearly impossible to start a new character and play on this server if level 60s could roll through and wipe out all the newbies in crushbone or something.
